Skill Level: Competent
We use Skype as our primary method of communication in the Joomlaverse. I use it to chat with all my business contacts from across the many projects I'm involved in, and I use the voice function as a very low cost alternative to traditional "hard line" phone service. Since becoming a hard-core skyper in the fall of 2006, I've infected numerous friends, colleagues, family members, and organizations. It's free, it's easy, and it's so cool.
I've used AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and other chat and VOIP programs, and nothing compares. Hail Skype!
