Skill Level: Competent
I write a lot of web content. For a while I tried writing in MS Word, but I quickly learned that Microsoft's proprietary (and non-standard) CSS doesn't translate well into HTML.
When I first made the leap to an HTML editor, I used NVU, a free and open source software that is an excellent choice for the money. As I got more heavily into web writing, however, I realized that Dreamweaver offers little shortcuts and options that are very useful.
Dreamweaver is a bit like killing a fly with a smart bomb in my case- Dreamweaver has tools that I'll never want to know how to use, especially around PHP code writing etc. But it was worth the money simply for the ease of inserting a link into a document.
